When it comes to refrigeration, water is very important. As you know, there are some refrigerators that are capable of dispensing drinking water. What you may not realize is that this water comes directly from your own well, or the city well. It really depends on where you happen to live. No matter what the case is as far as that goes, you're definitely going to be needing a water filter. Why? Well there are actually a few reasons so let's go over them.

Though the EPA has stated that our drinking water is clean, they know this is not the case. Because drinking water is impossibly to actually purify they simply allow a certain number of contaminants in the drinking water. If you haven't noticed by now, the EPA has always recommended using some sort of filter for your drinking water, and this is very important advice for you to follow. There are now filters for your tap water, and even filters for your refrigerator.

Do you need to replace your water filter? Absolutely! The question is, when do you need to change it out? The answer to this question is pretty simple. Depending on the number of contaminants in your water will really determine how much wear and tear your filter actually takes. Since it's very hard to tell it would be best to replace your filter every six months or so.

This finally brings us to the different types of filters that you can purchase for the General Electric Refrigerator. The first of these is the GE GXRTDR Inline Water Filter. Not only does it filter the contaminants from the water, it also reduces rust and improves the overall taste to both the water as well as the ice maker. The best part about this particular filter is that you don't need any particular tools, it has fittings that connect quick and easy.

GE makes a filter known as the SmartWater MWF, and it is a highly advanced ge refrigerator filter. It is capable of getting rid of Chlorine and Particulates Class I. The price of this one really depends on where you get it, but it's fairly cheap just about anywhere.

Finally there's the GE SmartWater GSWF water filter is fairly nice. It can decrease many water contaminants such as Lead, Turbidity, Lindarie, Sediment, and even Cysts. By far this one takes care of the most contaminants so it's definitely something that you should look into if you're in the market for staying healthy.

Water filtration is very important, and it keep our drinking water safe as well as tasty. In a world where we breathe in pollution and eat things that are fairly questionable, being able to drink clean water is a very important part of staying healthy. While this does take some extra effort on your part, it is completely worth it considering how much it will help you in the long run. So head over to GE's website, or look at a few of the other third party websites to see all of the different available options.
