Today's water sources are becoming more polluted and toxic than ever. Thanks the chemicals, bacteria, toxic metals and other forms of contaminants found present in our water reserves, the quality of tap water has been compromised. Thankfully, various restorative technologies have been used to take giant steps in making tap water safe for drinking and for its other role in our daily lives. Ceramic water filter systems are among the cost-effective water treatment options that offered homes and offices a variety of low cost to high-end solutions to toxic water problems.

Ceramic Undercounter Water Filte - Click for More Information

A traditional Ceramic water filter setup basically comes as a cartridge with ceramic pure water filter. The traditional filtering element is usually a diatomaceous earth or a fossil substance that is made up of tiny silicon shells. These silicon shells are usually left by numerous one celled algae that inhabited the waters of the earth millions of years ago.

Commercial Ceramic water filters give you nano-silver impregnated ceramic filters. Nano silver coating is placed on the surface of the porous ceramic outer shell of the filter, making it effective in trapping bacteria as small as 0.22 micron or 1/100,000 of an inch particle size. When it comes to decontaminating water, laboratory tests showed that a bacteriologically sterile and bacteriologically-safe filtering media must have 0.45 micron to 0.1 micron pore size.

Rio 2000 Whole House Water Filter - Buy Today

Through re-growth of bacteria is possible in the pores of the ceramic pure water filter, its silver nano coating releases small quantities of positively charged metal ions when in contact with water. The positively charged ions form a system that attacks the enzyme system of the bacterial cell, thereby neutralizing its harmful effects. This makes the filter effective in filtering out and controlling the disease-causing bacteria in your drinking water. When its outer surface traps pollutants as well as potentially dangerous microorganisms, regularly brushing the surface gives your home and office pure water filter systems a reliable and longer lasting defense against all forms of contaminants.

The market is actually crowded with dozens of brands and designs of ceramic water filter. For those who demand a reliable pure water filter system, a pressurized water treatment system that is made from high-grade polished stainless steel can do nicely. An under counter Ceramic water filter with carbon cartridge gives you an under sink water filtration system with enhanced and carbon activated ceramic filtration properties. To cover your household water requirement, you may invest on a water filtration system that is designed for whole house capacity. This type of system may use up to 6 ceramic filtering elements to provide your home with larger volumes of clean and healthy water. To complete your kitchen essentials, adding in a countertop water filter offers a convenient and pure water filter system that easily attaches to the tap, directly diverting tap water to the filter and out to its spout.

Doulton HCPS Twin Countertop Filter With Ceramic Ultracarb - Another Good Option For Your Home

Compared to UV radiation, reverse osmosis, ionization and atmospheric water generation, a Ceramic water filter is relatively low-tech. However, its simple mechanisms in decontaminating and purifying drinking water deliver substantial health gains. With its microbiological effectiveness, it significantly improves the quality of drinking as well as household water. Although the filters are ceramic and therefore susceptible to breakage, they are very effective in decontaminating tap water. It serves as a reliable first line of defense against water-borne diseases and infections. With continued use, you, your family and the whole community can forever enjoy the benefits of having continuous supply of healthy water.

The expectation in most homes is usually to receive a clean, pure supply of water. (...)

The expectation in most homes is usually to receive a clean, pure supply of water. This should in fact be one of the fundamental rights of every single person on this planet in the twenty first century. This however, is often far from the case, even in relatively well developed countries like France and the United States. The water can still be unhealthy even though it’s tasty and not cloudy. A housing water filter system needs to be installed to protect you and your family from unseen biological agents and dangerous build up of minerals and chemicals.

Beam UV Rays, Boil or Filter

A number of technologies are relied upon by a housing water filter. These technologies are quite expensive and have been available for years now but only recently have there been advancements in trying to reduce cost to meet the demands of working class families in North America and Europe.

They are still too expansive to be used in a widespread fashion across the rest of the world. Home drinking water purification has made major inroads by taking the technologies used in the past and making them compact enough to fit beneath your sink. This technology has been made so compact that it can even fit into water bottle purifiers making it possible to have clean water wherever you go.

Desalination Technology

Desalination plants all over the world have been helping to provide fresh water to people from many different countries with the use of distillation. 12 billion gallons of clean water is provided each year by this form of purification according to the Wall Street Journal in early 2008. This technology is still considered to be relatively new even though it provides enough drinking water for 66 million coastal dwellers every year. Prior to the technology becoming advanced enough to work on a small scale, it used to consume a ton of energy but now it has become advanced enough to perform for home drinking water purification.

There are more advanced techniques available for housing water filter systems if that prospect doesn’t excite you. Another purification technology that is practical and cheap to maintain is UV purification. This technology works by simply bombarding the water with UV rays which kill any tiny organisms or bacteria that may be present in your water. This along with a water softener to remove minerals and metals provides a cheap alternative to the purification system mentioned above.

Whats New

The latest technology to hit the household water filtration system market is known as reverse osmosis. This technology is very effective as it uses water pressure to force water through a very fine filter, filtering even the tiniest pollutants in your water and it has been used in recent years to purify bottled water before shipping it out to customers.

Filtering rates for this household water filtration system vary in the 30-45 gallons per day range, providing enough water to drink, wash the clothes and foods but not enough to take several baths. However, it is still an economical and healthy system to use. Any of these housing water filter systems will certainly provide a much healthier and cleaner water supply for you and your family.

If you have lived and continue to live in the country side then I’m guessing you would also be using a well as your primary source of water just like me. Understandably good clean pure water would be a number one priority in your household; therefore, the need for a home well water filtration system is a must.

From experience, the appearance of water can be deceiving, there is bound to be particles present in the water that cannot be seen with the naked eye. The good thing is your bare tongue will most likely taste the difference. With various bacteria or viruses, accompanied with some organic and non-organic particles in the water, you can be certain that this will have an effect on the taste of your water.

In most cases, wells are normally drilled to more than 100-feet and in some cases much deeper. This is done to get below the water table in the surrounding area. However, in doing this a lot of foreign bacteria will seep into natural filters in the ground above the well. To eliminate this problem a home well water filtration system should be installed. I found that when I had installed this system it was able to stop many particles and dissolve metals and other items in the water. However, at some instances unpleasant odor and taste was still present

A home well water filtration system can eliminate majority of these particles of partially dissolved metals and other items. Even this may not be enough to remove all unpleasant odor or taste. As a back up to this system some people use a portable water purifier to supplement the well water filtration system. This is usually done to insure their water is safe to drink. In general the smaller the filter the smaller the particles that is caught and dissolved. On the flip side many of the dangerous microbes are too small to be affected by the average filter.

Filters Should Be One Step More Than Required

Before you install any kind of filter especially that of a well system, we advice strongly that you conduct water testing. This testing should not only be for heavy large particles but also for bacteria, viruses and protozoa. All such bacteria and particles are common in many untreated water which ultimately causes illness to people if left untreated. Filters sold commercially are normally about one micron in size. However, with most bacteria being much smaller it is recommended that you use a home well water filtration system with 4 micron filter. This will generally capture most of the harmful elements in the well water.

If your home and drinking well supply is situated adjacent to a farm or another industry, some of the chemicals they use may leak into the well. Most of these particles can be removed by a home well filtration system; however, water testing still needs to be conducted frequently.
